In the story of genetic development, touch is the first sense to be awakened. Before seeing and hearing, a child receives information about his surroundings, by meeting the limits of it environment and through the feelings of security and affection it has. This is the first path open to communication. Our sense of touch involves our whole body, unlike the other senses which have a single, limited organ.
